Gig Driver Tax & Earnings Toolkit · 18 worksheets + 2 phone spreadsheets
150 forgotten miles can pay for the kit
Know what a mile costs you and what an hour really pays after the drive, log every business mile at the time, and have each quarterly tax payment waiting before it is due.
- Worked example: our IRS mileage rate by year page lists 76 cents a mile from 7/1/2026, so 150 forgotten business miles is a $114 deduction, roughly $30 less tax for many drivers, more than this $19 kit. Results vary.
- The Block Scorecard turns a $21.43 an hour block into its real hourly rate after the drive and 30 cents a mile, before you tap accept
- 18 fill-in worksheets, 52 print pages, 2 filled-in examples and 2 phone-ready spreadsheets
Replaces the shoebox of receipts, the notes-app mileage guesses and the surprise tax bill.
30-day money-back guarantee. Use it all; if it doesn't help, every dollar back.
This kit pays for itself
The IRS raised the business mileage rate to 76 cents a mile for trips from 7/1/2026 (72.5 cents before that; see our IRS mileage rate page). Log about 150 business miles a year that you would otherwise have missed and, for many drivers, the tax that deduction saves is more than this $19 kit.
- The miles people forget: tracking apps log the miles while you are online, but the return to the station, the run for supplies and the drive between two apps slip through. At 76 cents a mile for trips from 7/1/2026 (72.5 cents from 1/1 to 6/30/2026), as listed on our IRS mileage rate by year page, every 100 business miles is a $76 deduction. The Daily Log and the Forgotten Miles sheet catch them the day you drive them, and the workbooks apply the right rate to each trip's date.
- The real hourly rate: our block acceptance guide shows that a $75 block for 3.5 hours reads as $21.43 an hour. Add the drive to the station and back (our earnings per mile guide uses 15 miles each way, which turns a 40-mile route into 70) and fuel and wear at 30 cents a mile, and the same block works out nearer $12 an hour. The Block Scorecard does that math before you tap accept.
- The quarterly payment: gig apps do not withhold tax, and the IRS can add a penalty when estimated payments are late or short. The Quarterly Tax Planner sets money aside every week, so the payment is waiting before its Form 1040-ES date.
Worked example
For example: 150 business miles you would otherwise not have logged, at the current IRS rate of 76 cents a mile (trips from 7/1/2026; 72.5 cents before that), is a $114 deduction. A deduction is not cash; it lowers the income you pay tax on. For a driver paying self-employment tax (15.3% on 92.35% of net earnings) and in the 12% income-tax bracket, that is roughly $30 less tax, more than the $19 kit. For example only. Results vary, and which miles count depends on your situation: confirm with a tax professional.

Who made this
Built by Glen Meade and the FlexDriverGuide team, the people behind the free earnings calculators, block timing guides and gig tax guides on this site, from IRS publications, the apps' own pay and tax pages, and our published research on driver pay and costs. Researched, not tax or legal advice.
Not tax or legal advice. A tax professional should confirm which miles and expenses you deduct and what you pay each quarter. Pay figures are ranges from our own guides, not a promise of what any app will pay you.

Questions
How do I get it?
Pay on the secure Stripe checkout and you land on your download page: the full PDF, a ZIP of every sheet as its own printable page, and two spreadsheets that open in Google Sheets, Excel or Numbers. Bookmark that page to download again later.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The PDF reads on any phone, and the two spreadsheets open in the free Google Sheets app, so you can log a shift before you drive off. Print the logs if you prefer paper in the car.
I already use a mileage tracking app. Do I still need this?
The app is a good start. The kit adds what an app does not: the miles you drove while offline for the work, your real hourly rate after the miles, the quarterly tax set-aside and the year-end organizer for your preparer. It is also the backup when the phone dies.
Will it tell me what I will earn?
No, and nobody honestly can: pay changes by city, app, station and week. The kit works out what you really earned, from your own records, so you can decide which blocks, apps and hours are worth it.
Is this tax advice?
No. It is a planning and record-keeping kit with general information. A tax professional should confirm which miles and expenses you deduct and what you pay each quarter. The kit helps you bring them clean records.
What if it is not what I expected?
Use the whole kit. If it doesn't help, fill in the refund form within 30 days and you get every dollar back. No questions asked. Refund form.
I bought the older version. What changed?
The toolkit was rebuilt as one kit: the old checklists and cheat sheets became worksheets you fill in, with filled-in examples, a start-here page, a real hourly rate calculator sheet, a forgotten-miles log and two new spreadsheets. Your old download page now leads to the new files.
